Coaching

Sometimes you are not looking for therapy, but for a clear, warm and honest conversation partner: someone who helps you see where you stand, what matters to you and what your next step could be. Dr. Yowon Choi offers individual coaching in English and Korean, by video call, wherever you live.

What coaching is about

Coaching looks forward. Together you explore a question or a change in your life, discover your strengths and the patterns that hold you back, and find concrete steps that suit you. Yowon brings more than 20 years of experience as a psychologist and meditation teacher, and her own life between Korea and Europe. Mindfulness is part of how she works: learning to pause, notice what is going on in you, and choose your response.

Topics

  • Life and career: a career change or new direction, big decisions, burnout prevention, finding balance between work and private life.
  • Living abroad: settling into life in Korea or another country, a new language and work culture, building a life far from home, or returning home.
  • Multicultural life and identity: living between cultures, in a multicultural relationship or family, and the question of who you are and where you belong.
  • Parents of gifted children: supporting a gifted or twice-exceptional child at home and at school, and, where it applies, understanding your own giftedness.
  • Mindful leadership: for professionals and leaders who want to lead with clarity, calm and compassion, handle pressure, and stay resilient.

Coaching or psychotherapy?

Coaching is for people who are doing reasonably well and want to grow, decide or change something. If you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, trauma or a crisis, psychotherapy is usually the better choice. Not sure? Just get in touch: together you can find out what fits.
